Discharge of Mortgage

A legal document that is signed by the lender and then given to the borrower (or borrowers' lawyer) when a mortgage has been paid in full.

DO NOT burn this document if you are celebrating the end of your payments! In British Columbia, if you receive this document you need to present the document to Land Titles office to complete the discharge.
